INCLEN Global Meeting XVII

INVITATION

Dear Colleagues:

It is with great pleasure to extend to you our cordial invitation to participate in the International Clinical Epidemiology Network (INCLEN) Global Meeting XVII, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand during October 15 - 18, 2000.

INCLEN was established in 1980 with the aim of improving health in developing world through the dissemination and application of clinical epidemiology, a new discipline to clinical practice. Since then, approximately 500 INCLEN fellows from 18 developing countries have been trained in the skills needed to conduct high quality clinical research that would achieve valid and important scientific advances applicable to clinical practice. Many of the research findings were presented at the INCLEN global meetings, which have been held approximately once a year over the past 20 years.

The theme of INCLEN Global Meeting XVII is "Research Networks in the New Millennium: Developing Countries' Contribution to Global Knowledge". The meeting will review the contribution of research conducted by investigators in developing countries to the advancement of global knowledge; the value of research collaboration and research networks in solving health problems in developing countries and beyond; and the strategies for incorporation of research results into health care practice.

The organizing committee invites the participants to submit research abstracts for presentation at the Global Meeting in the various areas of health sciences.

We hope that this meeting will be a venue for creating partnerships among investigators, research users and research fund donors around the world and it will be a successful meeting as always.

We look forward to meeting you in Bangkok in October 2000.

Sincerely yours,
Chitr Sitthi-amorn
